What (and What Not) to Bring to Webster Place

OK to Bring...

  • Insurance card, prescription card, and social security numbers for you and the policy holder
  • A complete list of the names, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of the people you/we will want to contact during your stay.
  • Prescription medications, enough for entire stay. (Refills should be available for longer stay.)
  • Over-the-counter medications and vitamins are allowed, but must be in original unopened packaging. (Only unopened packages, please.)
  • If you have a Big Book, Twelve Steps & Twelve Traditions, Living Sober and Came to Believe, please bring them.
  • You are welcome to bring any recovery or spirituality-based books and literature with you.
  • Paper and pens or pencils and a non-toxic highlighter.
  • A large spiral notebook or two.
  • Stationery and stamps to write letters.
  • Cigarettes enough for entire stay -- packages must be unopened. Staff will not buy or lend cigarettes to residents
  • Calling cards for long distance calls -- house phones are provided for out-going calls only during designated hours.
  • Internet access is provided to access e-mail accounts -- it is recommended that you set up an e-mail account (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) prior to registration.
  • Toiletries to last for length of stay -- items containing alcohol and aerosols will not be allowed -- all items must be in original packaging and unopened.
  • Please remember to bring only washable items.
  • Music players (mp3) with headphones are allowed for use in private areas only.
  • Reading material. It's OK to bring a novel or two for quiet time reading.
  • Clothes for indoors: Jeans, sweatshirts, comfortable sweaters, shirts, shoes, sneakers for exercise.
  • Clothes for outside: Coats, jackets, boots, shoes for walking/exercise, and work shoes for gardening.
  • Seasonal attire including gloves, hats, snow jackets.
  • Residents are requested to dress appropriately. No revealing clothes or any clothing that promotes alcohol or drug use.
  • Laundry facilities and ironing board are provided at no charge.

Please Do Not Bring...

  • Cell phones
  • Laptops, computers, portable TVs, cameras, pagers
  • Music players (boom boxes) with speakers
  • Hand held internet access devices
  • CD's, DVD's, movies
  • Valuables, jewelry, unnecessary cash
  • Hand held gaming systems
  • Alcohol or products containing alcohol
  • Mood altering chemicals/drugs
  • Pets
  • Candy, food, snacks.
  • Perfume/colognes/aftershave
  • Metal nail files, nail polish/nail polish remover
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Aerosol cans for any purpose
  • Astringents
  • Weapons, knives, box cutters, pocket knives
  • No magazines, please
