Bishop Gene Robinson Dedicates Webster Place Recovery Center's Spiritual Renewal Center - August 20, 2008

Bishop Gene Robinson provided an inspirational and heartfelt personal touch to the dedication of the new Spiritual Renewal Center at Webster Place Recovery Center.  The ceremony was attended by 60 plus guests from the local clergy and spiritual community along with some current residents, alumni and board members.  Webster Place Board Chairman, Paul Lavallee, began the event with a welcoming message that included references to his own spiritual journey followed by a touching message from Alex Ray, who noted the long tradition of healing and hope that the property enjoyed and the vision for continued opportunities for spiritual growth.  Executive Director John Knowles followed with another moving personal revelation of his spiritual journey in recovery before introducing Bishop Robinson.

Bishop Robinson began his talk with a wonderful analogy of how the orphaned children where not unlike the residents currently living here. He went on to provide a personal story that moved all in attendance before providing a prayer of dedication that had all in attendance lending a “touch”.  Afterwards, those in attendance adjourned to the Savoie Dining Hall for socializing and dinner.  As usual, Chef Colleen O’Neil produced a lavish feast that featured many of the Farm’s signature dishes.
